Testimonials (original and unedited)

Dear Dr. Cadwalder & Mr. Story,
Thank you, thank you for giving us our daughter back! When we came to Cadwlader, we were desperate for help in treating our daughter's drug addiction and anorexia. Her stay at the Ranch was such a wonderful experience. The entire staff was a god send for us. Each of you are such professionals, while at the same time keeping the human factor in your dealings with the patients and their parents. We always felt that you were concerned about not only Megan, but our entire family. Megan is doing well, making straight A's and holding down a job while completing her senior year in high school. Without all of the education and support that she was given while in your care, none of this would have been possible. You have truly given her a second chance at life.
I would also like to specially thank Mr. Story for his unprecedented patience in dealing with our insurance company! I can't begin to tell you how grateful we are for the time and energy you spent trying to get everything approved and how understanding you were during the appeal process. There aren't many health care entities out there that are as patient and supportive as you were. We can never thank you enough.
Sincerely,
Berry & Cindy T.

Learning to Fly
Here I am once again rebuilding the steps that have passed me by
Once again relearning the feeling of experiencing the ability to fly
Before my mom had taught me how to let go and fly free
However, I didn't hold, my wings broke, and my eating disorder wouldn't let me be.
I let it control me and my life became covered in a colorless shadow with no real meaning,
I felt I didn't have the option of opening my eyes and truly seeing.
This all changed for me not so long ago
This kind of peace surrounded me, how I missed it so.
I turned to him two years ago and last month I gave him most of this,
But just last week he reached down and delivered me with a kiss.
I am so grateful God blessed me with my strong desire to recover
I gave him all and searched through the past to begin to rediscover
I pray so much for those who have to continue to search for so many a mile.
Years from now, I can look back and know my eating disorder is covered under a pile.
It will not be able to come back again because I really let it go
I put it in God's hands and it's he who makes me know that I am beautiful inside and out
And HE WILL WATCH ME FLY,
These miracles will raise me up to soar above the sky……

What can you say about a group of dedicated professionals who saved the life of the most precious daughter, wife, sister and friend? You can say thank you, and pray that other young girls and their families find this country lodge, that sprawls under the canopy of majestic pines and oaks, in time to save their daughter's life. I have never been exposed to a more loving, caring, dedicated group of people who through their work are creating miracles in the lives of many young ladies. My daughter, and many other young ladies the Cadwalder Clinic have helped, are living testimonies of what can and must be done to pry the relentless grip that disordered eating has on our frail and cherished offspring. God bless the Cadwalder Clinic personnel and god save our daughters.– Family, 2003

Kathy and Doc-
How can I ever begin to thank you for all you have given me. I have my life back because of you and the program you established. Kathy, thank you so much for the wisdom you have shared with me through the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy activities and just in general. I remember one day I was having a really hard time and you talked to me during Equine Assisted Psychotherapy with Cheryl and Meghan. I still think about "going powerless" over things. Thank you for being so devoted to helping me. You even made my peanut butter things especially for me. You made it nearly impossible for me to believe I was un-loveable because you were always there to show me love. That means more than you know to me. Your program has literally saved me from death. I will miss you very much!! Yet again, thank you.
Love,
Kristen V. 2005

Words cannot express our sincere thanks and gratitude for all you have done in giving Susie a 2nd chance at all life has to hold. We really felt at ease the moment we came to C.B.C. and we feel like you've come to be like a 2nd family to us and especially to Susie. Each and every one of you brings a special quality and touch that is so rare in a treatment facility and we know each guest is touched and changed from being here. You all have taught Susie some valuable skills she will need to face her future and we have set in motion the support to keep her on the right path. Above all, God will never leave her nor forsake her and she will become a stronger person from this experience. Our hopes and prayers for C.B.C. are that many lives will be transformed and saved by Gods' grace and your mission and many blessings will come to all those who serve here. With love and gratitude, Mike & Nancy -- Chicago (Anorexia Nervosa) age 20.

Dear Doc, Kathy and The Incedible Cadwalder Staff, "We would like tothank you for the wonderful, loving care that you have given to our daughter Kristina. By the grace of God and with your loving care, Kristina came home with some hope and willingness to rebuild her life using the skills you helped to instill. The facility provides the ideal environment for recovery. The staff, through their love and skills provides the catalyst for miracles. She spent seventy-two days with you that gave her hope and us the time to recharge our efforts to help her.
